Christophe Hioco spent 27 years with the prestigious business bank JP Morgan, that notably led him to Asia for long periods (Tokyo, Singapore...), then to London. A passionate art collector all of his life, he developed a particular expertise in the domain of Asian art.
When he was in London, he decided to devote himself to his passion and to make his debut in antiques, by regularly participating in prestigious antique shows. Upon his return to France in 2005, after 15 years in various parts of the world, he created the Christophe Hioco Gallery, with the objective of enlarging his collection and increasing his expertise to first-choice works dating essentially from the first millennium of the modern era.

The Gallery specialized in Champa art (5th to 15th centuries) by acquiring exceptional pieces, some of which have been in prestigious museum exhibits and are illustrated in books of note.

The Christophe Hioco Gallery has also enlarged its collection through statuary from Burma, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia (11th to 19th centuries); Chinese portraits of ancestors; funerary artwork from ancient China - from the Han to the Ming era - as well as the extremely rare Vietnamese bronzes of the Dong So’n culture.

The Christophe Hioco Gallery is exceedingly attentive to the originality, quality, provenance and authenticity of the pieces that it acquires. The Gallery works with renowned independent experts. It also seeks by all means available to guarantee the authenticity of the artwork that it carries, thus gaining the well-deserved confidence of collectors.

By being present at several European shows and at the major Brussels Oriental Antique Fair in June 2007, the Christophe Hioco Gallery confirms its engagement by putting most of its pieces on line, thus allowing each and everyone to wander through its collections and learn about the pieces in complete transparency.
